What Botox can treat
Botox temporarily reduces selected muscle activity that contributes to expression lines.
- Forehead lines: horizontal lines when you raise your eyebrows.
- Frown lines: vertical lines between the brows.
- Crow’s feet: lines near the outer corners of the eyes.
These are FDA-approved cosmetic treatment areas in adults. Other uses need their own assessment and may be off-label. The right plan considers adjacent muscles and brow position, not just the line you see.
Natural-looking does not mean under-treated
A natural result should look intentional, balanced, and appropriate for your face. The goal is not necessarily to eliminate every line or stop all movement.
For many patients, preserving some expression while reducing the strongest pull of selected muscles creates a more believable result. We would rather explain the tradeoffs clearly than promise a completely smooth forehead that may not fit your brow position or movement pattern.

Botox vs. Xeomin: why Bella Derma offers both
Botox and Xeomin are both botulinum toxin type A products used to temporarily reduce targeted muscle activity. They are not interchangeable by unit, and one brand is not automatically “better” for every patient.
Your prior response, treatment area, muscle strength, desired effect, budget, and provider judgment can all influence the recommendation. Bella Derma offers both so the plan does not have to begin with a predetermined brand.

When Botox may be the wrong treatment
Not every line is primarily caused by muscle movement. Volume loss, skin laxity, pigment, redness, texture, dehydration, and collagen changes can all create concerns that Botox will not fix.
If the problem is volume or facial proportion, dermal filler may be more relevant. If the concern is tone, redness, pigment, or texture, laser, peels, microneedling, PRX, or skincare may deserve priority.

Botox results: what to expect and how long treatment lasts
Botox does not create its full effect immediately. Patients commonly begin noticing change within several days, with the result continuing to develop over the following days. A two-week window is often used to evaluate the settled effect.
Duration varies. Muscle strength, dose, treatment area, metabolism, exercise patterns, prior treatment history, and individual response can all influence how long the effect is noticeable. Three to four months is commonly discussed, but shorter or longer responses occur.

Can Botox Help Create a Slimmer-Looking Jawline?
Jawline shape can reflect muscle, bone, volume, and skin laxity. In selected patients, treatment may gradually soften a muscle-driven wide lower face. It does not remove fat or correct every cause of lower-face fullness.
May’s demonstration shows the approach; it is not a before-and-after result or a guarantee. Cosmetic masseter treatment is off-label. Discuss its limits and risks, including temporary chewing weakness and changes to smile or facial balance.
Use of botulinum toxin in the masseter muscles for cosmetic facial contouring is an off-label treatment. Your provider can determine whether it is appropriate for your individual anatomy and goals.
Safety, candidacy and medical context
This is a prescription medical treatment. Do not receive Botox if you have an infection at a proposed injection site or a known allergy to its ingredients or other botulinum toxin products. Tell May about medications, supplements, previous injections, muscle or nerve conditions, swallowing or breathing difficulties, pregnancy, or breastfeeding.
Side effects may include bruising, swelling, discomfort, headache, asymmetry, and eyelid or brow drooping. Rare serious reactions can occur. Seek urgent medical help for trouble breathing, swallowing, or speaking after treatment. Review risks and personalized instructions before deciding.

Questions worth asking before treatment
Your desired movement is part of the consultation. Dose, placement, muscle strength, and anatomy matter. Explain your preference; no particular result can be guaranteed.
Bella Derma has a 50-unit minimum purchase. That is distinct from clinical dosing. May determines whether treatment and the proposed plan are appropriate; a minimum purchase does not replace individualized assessment.
Results develop gradually and bruising or swelling may occur. Allow time for assessment and recovery. Ask May about timing based on your treatment history.
Contact Bella Derma for an assessment. Describe your concern and when treatment occurred. Recommendations depend on clinical findings and the settled result; additional units are not always the answer.
Bring your medication list and prior injection history. Do not stop prescribed medication without your prescribing clinician’s advice. Follow May’s individualized aftercare and contact the clinic with unexpected symptoms.
Effects are temporary. About three to four months is commonly discussed, but duration and response vary. Maintenance follows your actual response.
